Friend of ours and virtuoso film maker Louis Ellison perfectly captures the mood of this unlikely Japanese/Chicano American subculture cross-over. Whilst gang culture in America is more familiarly associated with violence and lawlessness, the Japanese take on Chicano culture is much softer, and focusses more on the sense of community and family bonding.
