Connect A Bike’s Chain With A SRAM Powerlink
Introduction
A SRAM Powerlink means you can connect a chain without tools. It's easiest to do this on the bike if you have a 'C' shaped wire hook to connect the chain together. It's easy to make one of these from a broken spoke. A Sram Powerlink looks replaces one outer link of chain. Prepare the chain 1/2 an inch short with an inside link at each end.
Step 1
Hook
Connect the ends of the chain using the ‘C’ hook.
Step 2
Insert
Insert half the SRAM Powerlink into each end of the chain.
Step 3
Line Up
Line up the pins with the bigger part of the ‘keyhole’ in the other half of the SRAM Powerlink.
Step 4
Connect SRAM Powerlink
Push the pins into the keyhole then pull the two ends of the chain apart to close the SRAM Powerlink .
